I love reading books about sailors and this piece was inspired by them, by the stories of sailors who circumnavigated the world, crossing the southern seas. This necklace embodies the contrast between the paradisiacal realm of sailing in good weather under the sun, symbolized by pearls, and the harshness of the sea with its storms and hard days, represented by ropes. I love it, as much as the sensations that these readings produce in me.
In the first photo it appears clean. In the second photo it shows how it can age. It can be cleaned - as every sterling silver-, but I like it that way too. I have one and for now I wear it like this and I love it. I think it is like the ropes of a boat, it is very nice to see them new but it is also beautiful to see the passage of time LIVED IN.
The piece can be delivered in two ways, you choose:
A) Polished - with the clean color of silver- and with a silver plating over the sterling silver itself to help prevent rapid oxidation. The natural tarnishing that occurs over time is a characteristic of silver. While silver plating helps slow down the oxidation process, it does not prevent it entirely, as it depends on environmental factors, usage, and the unique pH of each person's skin.
B) Pre-oxidized, already with an aged effect.
Personally, I prefer it to oxidize naturally over time, but of course, everyone has their own taste. This piece is stunning in both versions!

Each piece is unique and with this series of pearls there is only one piece polished (option A) available. If you want a pre-oxidized one (option B) I can make it to order.
